In this paper, the researcher shows how Laila Halaby presents mainstream Americans’ perception of Arab Americans post 9/11 America in her novel Once a Promised Land. narrates provided Western gaze upon Arab-American citizens. symbolizes characters an which is conspiratorial and submerged with religious passions. After 9/11, Halaby’s American become increasingly fanatical mistrustful Arabs, specifically, Islamic religion, general. Halaby, then, portrays intolerant xenophobic overwrought doubts discloses that prevalent anti-Arab racism. also propounds widespread world patently divided between East West only arouses global crises such as drought, poverty war. She declares attacks occurred on September 11, 2001, were direct result these epidemics. Moreover, offers perspective who are ignorantly perceiving United States separated from affecting all nations.
